‘Shameless’ Gets Eighth Season Pickup

Showtime will bring back its comedy series Shameless for an eighth season, the network said Monday.

The series, which stars Emmy winning actor William H. Macy and Emmy Rossum has been renewed for a 12-episode eighth season that will debut sometime in 2017, said network officials. Showtime aired the season seven finale of the series on Sunday night.

Shameless is produced by Bonanza Productions in association with John Wells Productions and Warner Bros. Television. The most recent season of Shameless was executively produced by John Wells, Nancy M. Pimental, Christopher Chulack, Krista Vernoff, Etan Frankel and Sheila Callaghan, said the network.
