Canadian MSO Shaw Communications Inc. said it expects to close on the sale of
its U.S. cable properties in Texas and Florida by June 30.
Back in February, Shaw announced an agreement to sell its Florida properties
around Tampa and Daytona Beach with about 44,000 subscribers to Bright House
Networks LLC for $112 million.
CEQUEL III, the telecommunications-investment company headed by former
Charter Communications Inc. CEO Jerry Kent, agreed to buy the Texas properties
-- located in three communities near Houston with about 27,000 customers -- for
Shaw said it intended to use the proceeds of the asset sales to pay down
