Shine Polished at Fox News

Fox News Channel has promoted Bill Shine to senior vice president of programming.

In his new capacity, Shine -- who had been VP, production since 2003 -- will oversee all programming and production for the network and report directly to chairman and CEO Roger Ailes.

Shine -- who began his career in 1985 as a producer/director at WLIG-TV in New York -- has been with Fox News since its 1996 inception, when he was the producer for Hannity & Colmes. In 2000, he was named network executive producer, overseeing network programming and production, including primetime.

In addition to those duties, Shine served as executive producer of The Pulse, the newsmagazine that ran on the Fox Broadcasting Network from 2001-03.

In making the announcement, Ailes said, “Bill Shine has made a tremendous contribution to production and programming for Fox News Channel. His excellent producing skills and managing ability make him a natural for this position.”
