Everybody who watches Showtime original series Nurse Jackie knows Edie Falco's lead character is a firecracker.
So, the premium network will celebrate the Fourth of July with a marathon of four installments: the pilot at 8 p.m. (ET); "Sweet-‘N-All" at 8:30 p.m.; "Chicken Soup" at 9 p.m.; and "School Nurse" at 9:30 p.m.
Nurse Jackie premiered as the highest-rated show in Showtime history on June 8 and was instantly renewed for a second season.
A half-hour dark comedy, Nurse Jackie is at times wicked, heartbreaking and funny. Falco stars as the title character Jackie Peyton, a strong-willed and brilliant -- but very flawed -- emergency room nurse in a complicated New York City hospital. A lapsed Catholic with an occasional weakness for Vicodin and Adderall to get her through the days, Peyton keeps the hospital balanced with her own kind of justice. Every day is a high wire act of juggling patients, doctors, fellow nurses and her own indiscretions.
The first season also stars Eve Best, Merritt Wever, Haaz Sleiman, Paul Schulze, and Peter Facinelli.
