Showtime Gives Life to Dead Like Me


Showtime hopes to follow in the footsteps of Home Box Office's Six Feet
by mining the afterlife for a series winner.

Production began on two-hour film Dead Like Me, a quirky and dark
comedy being considered as a back-door series pilot.

Taking a look at life and death -- and that which follows -- the movie, set
to bow sometime next year, centers on a young woman who is killed when a piece
of the Mir space station clocks her noggin. She then discovers she has been
assigned a job in the afterlife by a reaper.

Developed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc., it stars Mandy Patinkin, Ellen Muth,
Rebecca Gayheart, Jasmine Guy, Callum Blue and Cynthia
