Showtime Renews 'Homeland,' 'The Affair'

Renewals Announced Two Weeks Before Season Finales

Showtime has renewed drama series Homeland and The Affair, the network said Wednesday.

Homeland, starring Emmy Award-winning Claire Danes, will return in 2016 for its sixth season, while The Affair will return for its third season, said network officials.

Both shows will end its current seasons on Dec. 20. according to Showtime.

Homeland is produced by Fox 21 Television Studios with Alex Gansa, Howard Gordon, Alexander Cary, Chip Johannessen, Lesli Linka Glatter, Meredith Stiehm, Avi Nir, Ran Telem, Gideon Raff and Patrick Harbinson serving as executive producers.

The Affair’s executive producers include Sarah Treem (House of CardsIn Treatment), Hagai Levi (In Treatment), Anya Epstein (In Treatment) and Jeffrey Reiner (Friday Night Lights).
