Showtime’s Freshman Matriculates Aug. 31

Viewers will be able to enroll in Showtime’s new reality show, Freshman
, Aug. 31.

The show -- from R.J. Cutler, the Emmy Award-winning executive producer and
director of American High -- will bow with a sneak preview that night at
9:25 p.m. (EST/PST), following theatrical Legally Blonde.

Freshman Diaries -- with a film crew tracking the lives of incoming
students at the University of Texas at Austin -- will then settle into its
regular time slot, Sundays at 11 p.m., for nine additional episodes.

Additionally, the students have been given their own video cameras so they
can record video diaries of their lives both on campus and off.

The students -- a mix of different sexes, ethnic backgrounds and sexual
orientations -- are all dealing with the complexities of leaving home and being
in complete charge of their own destinies.
