Showtime Networks Inc. has revised its Web site, arming the area with
several new interactive features.
SHO.com continues to focus on Showtime on-air programming, while furthering
online communities centering around their shows, network executives
Reflecting one year's worth of strategic review, design enhancements and
technical efforts, the redesigned site now includes personalized daily
programming guides and an online screening room. The updated site also features
'tell-a-friend' and celebrity-chat information.
The new online screening room enables users to access streaming-video clips
from other Showtime Web sites, including teasers from original series like
Queer as Folk, Soul Food, Resurrection Blvd. and The
Chris Isaak Show.
The site also links to series-specific Web sites designed to speak to
particular viewers, while providing a forum for watchers to give feedback to the
networks and to discuss issues with each other.
'We wanted to further expand online communities that would appeal to each of
the very diverse segments of our audience,' Showtime Digital Media Group senior
vice president Gene Falk said in a prepared statement.
'We didn't want to water down the content to fit a
general idea of who our audience is,' he added. 'With series-specific sites that
have information, message boards, online chats and other features geared to the
specific attitudes and lifestyles of the people that tune into Showtime each
night, we can keep the content interesting and pertinent.'
