'We wanted to further expand online communities that would appeal to each of
the very diverse segments of our audience,' Showtime Digital Media Group senior
vice president Gene Falk said in a prepared statement.

'We didn't want to water down the content to fit a
general idea of who our audience is,' he added. 'With series-specific sites that
have information, message boards, online chats and other features geared to the
specific attitudes and lifestyles of the people that tune into Showtime each
night, we can keep the content interesting and pertinent.'
