NEW YORK - Showtime Networks Inc.
is teaming with Wink Communications Inc.
to launch a 24-hour interactive experience to accompany its traditional TV programming.
"We believe interactivity provides a new level of richness to the entertainment experience and a great way to promote our great programming efforts," said Showtime executive vice president of corporate strategy and communications Mark Greenberg.
Showtime viewers can access interactive content through the on-screen Wink icon on Wink-enabled cable systems. Offerings include program schedules and summaries, listings of casts and characters and behind-the-scenes content.
Future ATVEF versions will include "Remind Me" and "Tell a Friend" electronic-mail features.
