Siemens Communications Group received Frost & Sullivan’s European Product of the Year Award 2006 for its Surpass Home Entertainment IPTV solution.
Frost & Sullivan’s analysts cited Surpass’ quality and successful market launch, as well as “the speed and ease with which the Siemens solution lets telecommunications providers integrate interactive value-added services in their IPTV offerings.”
The company added that Siemens’ open architecture allows third-party vendors -- such as manufacturers of set-top boxes required for receiving IPTV -- to have their products certified by Siemens to ensure error-free operation of the Home Entertainment solution.
