Simmons, WWE to Sponsor Voting Drive

World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. and hip-hop entrepreneur Russell Simmons
will lead a voter-registration campaign targeted toward young adults.

Simmons' Hip-Hop Summit Action Network (HSAN) and WWE will promote the "Two
Million More in 2004" campaign, which will seek to register at least 2 million
18- through 30-year-olds by November 2004, according to Simmons and WWE chairman
Vince McMahon.

The action follows the WWE’s 2000 campaign, "Smackdown Your Vote!," which
registered more than 150,000 young adults for the 2000 presidential
elections.

"Both WWE and hip-hop appeal to a broad cross-section of young Americans … I
can only imagine what the combination of sports entertainment and hip-hop will
do to attract the interest of younger voters in the 2004 elections now that we
have several months in which to reach them," McMahon said in a prepared
statement.
