Sixth-Season Debut Of 'Next Food Network Star' Heats Up With 2.5 Million Viewers


The sixth-season serving of The Next Food Network Star was the channel's tastiest with the Nielsens.

The two-hour season premiere of the competition show on June 7 averaged a 1.9 household rating, up 13% from the first installment of season five, and some 2.5 million on average, according to Nielsen data, the best marks ever for a season-opener for the series. The episode also scored with 1.3 million adults 25 to 54, another best for a series' starter. 

The strong ratings kick off Food Network's biggest June ever -- the Scripps-owned channel will premiere something new every night, 85 new episodes in total.
