Sling TV Moves E! and Paramount Network to ‘Blue’ Base Tier … Takes Some Shots at DirecTV Now

Sling TV said it is moving E! and Paramount Network from its $5-a-month Lifestyle Extra and Comedy Exra add-on packages, to its base $25-a-month Sling Blue tier.

And while it was typing out its press release, Sling took the opportunity to take a shot at rival virtual pay TV service DirecTV Now, which recently restructured its bundle, ditching a number of networks while raising its pricing.

"While other streaming providers are removing quality programming and raising prices, we've added two popular entertainment channels to Sling Blue without inflating costs for our customers," said Dana McLeod, VP of programming at Sling TV. "We are committed to providing the best content at the best price. There's never been a better time to be a Slinger.”

Sling TV also announced the addition of sports betting news and information network VSiN to Sling Orange and Sling Blue as a $4-a-month add-on.
