Arbitron Inc. announced Wednesday that Kevin Patrick Smith will be leaving
the research firm at the end of the month for an unspecified new venture.

He has been senior vice president of cable and "Portable People Meter"
business development.

VP of cable sales Carol Scott Edwards will assume Smith's duties.

Smith had created Arbitron's cable division and served as its senior VP and
general manager from 1995-2000.

He then left to become VP of ad sales at Wink Communications Inc., but he
rejoined Arbitron in spring 2001 as senior VP of cable
services.
