Comcast Corp. decided to postpone the 'Comcast Cares Day' that had been
scheduled to take place at an elementary school in Silver Spring, Md., this past
Saturday.

The postponement came 'in light of developments there,' Philadelphia-based
Comcast spokeswoman Jenni Moyer said, referring to the sniper who has killed six
people in seemingly random shootings in the Maryland/Washington, D.C./Virginia
area.

The Comcast Cares volunteer initiative was to involve nearly 400 Comcast
employees in the Washington metro/Virginia region and nearly 6,000 MSO employees
from around the nation, as well as Rep. Constance Morella (R-Md.), Montgomery
County council president Steven Silverman and Montgomery County Del. Carol
Petzold.

The plan was to improve the physical appearance of the school (Weller Road
Elementary School) by painting, cleaning and landscaping.
