SNY is taking the lid off its off-season New York Mets programming with a pair of shows on Nov. 21.
The RSN throws out the first pitch at 7 p.m. on Thursday with Mets Hot Stove presented by Citi, its weekly offseason show covering all of the news, notes and rumors swirling around the Amazins, and MLB’s other 29 squads. Former Mets All-Star and SNY Emmy Award-wining analyst Ron Darling and play-by-play announcer Gary Cohen will headline the season premiere, alongside a panel of special guests. Kevin Burkhardt is the Hot Stove host.
The program will air live every Thursday during the off-season in the 7 p.m. half hour. Mets Hot Stove will air live on-site shows every night throughout the Baseball Winter Meetings in Orlando from Dec. 9-12.
As the second part of its doubleheader on Nov. 21, SNY will premiere its Mike Piazza: Hall of Fame special. SNY will present exclusive footage of the former All-Star catcher during his September induction into the Mets Hall of Fame at Citi Field.
Viewers will witness behind-the-scenes moments from that day’s festivities, as well as a SNY anchor Gary Apple’s interview with one of the most beloved players in Mets history, who will discuss his trade to the team, the pressure he faced after signing his lucrative contract, playing in the 2000 World Series, his relationship with Tommy Lasorda and his team’s emotional return to the diamond after 9/11.
