SNY Scores With Mets Season Opener

The New York Mets opened their 2010 Major League Baseball season on the right foot and so did regional sports network SNY with the Nielsens.

SNY, according to Nielsen live + same-day data, averaged a 3.61 household rating in the New York DMA, translating into 342,000 viewers on average for its April 5 coverage of the Mets' 7-1 triumph over the Florida Marlins at Citi Field.

That performance made it SNY's highest-rated daytime opener and the second-best tor a New York RSN since 2002, when the Amazins and Pittsburgh Pirates drew a 3.9 rating on April 1 that year.

The April 5 Mets-Marlins telecast peaked at a 4.14 household rating, averaging more than 405,000 total viewers during the 4 p.m. quarter hour.
