SNY Sets RSN Record With Mets Season-Opener From Citi Field

The results on the field were not preferred, but SNY scored big with its coverage of the New York Mets inaugural game at Citi Field last night, recording the biggest season-opening rating for the club on a regional sports network.
The Amazins' 6-5 loss to the San Diego Padres and former bullpen teammates Duaner Sanchez and Heath Bell averaged a 4.65 household rating in the New York DMA and 434,500 viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research data.
SNY's April 13 telecast topped the previous record from April 1, 2002, when MSG's coverage of Mets and the Pittsburgh Pirates garnered a 3.9 household rating.
