SNY is offering a streaming package of UConn women’s basketball contests next month.
The package, mirroring the regional sports network’s game coverage of Geno Auriemma’s club, will be available at uconnhuskies.tv. SNY’s digital media partner, MLB Advanced Media, will provide its video streaming technology infrastructure to power the service. MLBAM captures, encodes and distributes more live events than any other Internet company
Fans can check out the action on their PCs or Macs for $19.95 monthly or $59.95 for the entire 2012-13 season offering of 20 UConn women’s hoops contests. In addition to game coverage, uconnhuskies.tv will present in-game highlights; archived games accessible via on-demand; exclusive features on the players and Auriemma; and player interview and analysis from SNY’s on-air talent roster.
Last March, SNY, the regional home to the New York Mets, struck a four-year, $4.55 million deal for UConn Lady Huskies’ rights, tipping with the 2012-13 school year. The deal ended the team’s 18-year run on Connecticut Public Television. The Lady Huskies are extremely popular in the Nutmeg state and have won seven NCAA titles under Auriemma’s watch.
