Former AT&T Broadband honcho Daniel Somers is getting into the
network-storage game, joining the board of directors at YottaYotta Inc.
Kirkland, Wash.-based YottaYotta provides a networked-storage system that
ropes devices into one virtual database managed as a single machine.
'Daniel Somers brings a wealth of experience to YottaYotta's board of
directors, and I believe he will be instrumental as we launch our first product,
the `NetStorager System,' later this year,' YottaYotta president and CEO Steve
Mattioli said in a prepared statement.
'Outsourced service providers -- including communications carriers, systems
integrators and service providers -- are key targets for YottaYotta, and Mr.
Somers is well versed in these markets,' he added.
Somers stepped down as CEO at AT&T Broadband in October.
He has been busying himself with several positions, including vice chairman
of investment-banking firm Blaylock & Partners L.P., board member of
Lubrizol Corp. in Ohio, trustee-board member at Stonehill College in North
Easton, Mass., and board member for the Newark Boys Chorus School in Newark,
