Song Sings About Its Entertainment System

Delta Air Lines’ Song spinoff said Thursday that its on-board-entertainment system has been installed in all 36 of its aircraft.

Each Song seat is equipped with a personal video monitor allowing passengers to view 24 all-digital live channels from EchoStar Communications Corp.’s Dish Network, to listen to 24 channels of digital radio and to participate in an interactive trivia game that includes play between passengers, all free-of-charge.

The second phase of Song’s system -- for which installation began in April with a December due date -- will add video-on-demand, pay-per-view movies, digitally streamed MP3 programming, 10 additional video games, an interactive “iXplor” moving-map program with zoom capabilities and points-of-interest information and connecting-gate information broadcast directly to personal video monitors.
