South Park makes its high-definition debut at midnight ET Saturday when South Park Imaginationland premieres on DirecTV’s The 101 Network.
DirecTV will be the exclusive home of the feature-length, director’s cut film. The Imaginationland trilogy originally aired on Comedy Central last fall, setting what the network called “ratings records” for the all-comedy channel.
In addition, DirecTV will also broadcast the HD version of South Park’s season eight premiere, "Good Times With Weapons," on The 101 Network. The HD version of "Good Times With Weapons" was originally made available to Microsoft Xbox LIVE members in 2007.
The Imaginationland trilogy drew almost 10 million unique viewers when it aired last fall. The trilogy averaged an impressive 7.5 rating among men 18-24, scoring a 23 share across the three episodes—topping the viewing audience for Game 1 of last seaon's World Series.
