Charter Communications original series production unit Spectrum Originals has picked up Southern Gothic series Paradise Lost from Paramount Network and Anonymous Content.

The 10-episode series will star Josh Hartnett, Bridget Regan as the leads, alongside a supporting cast that includes Barbara Hershey, Nick Nolte, Gail Bean, Danielle Deadwyler and Shane McRae.

The series follows a California psychiatrist who moves with her family to her husband’s Mississippi home town, only to uncover secrets—real shameful ones—that inject conflict and drama into the story.

Paradise Lost was created by Rotes Fishburne, who will show-run the series alongside executive producer Arikia Lissane Mittman (Dexter).

Spectrum Originals produces premium original series available exclusively to Spectrum video subscribers on-demand and ad-free.

The pickup comes after Spectrum Originals set a June 24 premiere date for Sky One futuristic street-racing drama Curfew. The unit also premiered its first original show, buddy cop drama L.A.’s Finest, last month.

That series, produced in partnership with Sony Pictures Television, was made exclusive to Charter subscribers (it’s unclear what the viewership has been like).

Notaby, it doesn’t appear that Paradise Lost is exclusive to Charter, with the announcement stating that the series will also debut not he Paramount Network.
