Speed Channel will be the FIA Formula One World Championship’s U.S. television home for the 11th consecutive season in 2006.

The network also acquired the rights to GP2 Series racing.

Speed will air the entire Formula One season, with at least 15 of the 19 races airing live and exclusive. Bob Varsha, David Hobbs and Steve Matchett will continue as the broadcast team, with pit reporter Peter Windsor having an expanded role on-site at each event, the network said.

In other Speed news, the network announced the launch of “Speed TV Mobile” along with CYBIRD Co. Ltd.’s Airborne Entertainment Inc. unit.

The network said personalized wallpapers and ring tones for mobile phone can be sampled and purchased online (www.speedtvmobile.com).
