Speed Channel is calling its coverage
of the NASCAR Hall of Fame’s inaugural induction
and race May 22 to 23 the biggest weekend in the
“With the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race on Saturday and
the first-ever NASCAR Hall of Fame Induction on Sunday,
Speed has an awesome opportunity to remind viewers why
they became fans of NASCAR in the first place,” network
president Hunter Nickell said in a statement.
Gearing up, the Fox Cable Networks channel has run
one-hour specials celebrating each of the five members of
the inaugural class: Driver Richard Petty; NASCAR founder
Bill France; NASCAR’s second chief, Bill France Jr.; and
drivers Junior Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Sr. They will reair
in primetime leading up to the inaugural ceremonies.
Speed also had an exclusive sneak peek inside the NASCAR
Hall of Fame in Charlotte before it opens to the public.
Speed will offer live coverage of the NASCAR Hall of
Fame Opening Ceremonies on May 11, beginning at 9 a.m.
The outdoor opening ceremonies are free and open to the
