Can I get 1.8 million? 1.9 million. Do I hear 2 million viewers...
Spike TV closed the first season of Auction Hunters with the original series with its best Nielsen count to date.
The Dec. 21 telecast delivered a 1.5 household rating 2.1 million viewers in the 10 p.m. hour, according to Nielsen data. That made it Spike's most-watched episode of any original series in 2010 and helped lift its rookie season average to 1.4 million.
Spike officials said Auction Hunters, which plays through the cutthroat world of storage-unit auctions with two of the best prospectors in the business, Clinton "Ton" Jones and Allen Haff, topped Discovery Channel's Auction Kings (1.3 million) on Tuesday nights.
Production on the second season of Auction Hunters begins in January, with new installments to open on Spike next spring.
