Spike TV will debut The Funkmaster Flex Super Series Friday at 9 p.m. (EST/PST), the network said Tuesday.
The one-hour special is an original racing reality special providing “an uncensored look at an exciting new kind of stock-car race that gives opportunity to up-and-coming drivers from all walks of life,” the network said in a prepared statement.
The actual race occurred last year at the Waterford Speedbowl in Waterford, Conn.
"The goal is to expose new groups of people to the world of motor sports while generating a new breed of racing, new fans, new viewers and a larger television audience," Funkmaster Flex said in a prepared statement.
Executive producer Monica Taylor added, “We get up close and personal with the drivers, conduct individual profiles, utilize in-car cameras and create a unique viewing experience for the television audience. We are taking the tradition of racing to the next level.”
