Spike TV Sets Maloof Reality Show

Spike TV will debut a new entrepreneurial-themed reality show about the Maloof family next year.

The series will be “based on the philosophical principals of the Maloof family, which have enabled them to amass a $1 billion family empire that spans banking, real estate, hospitality, beer distribution, gaming and sports -- from ownership of the successful Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas to athletic franchises and venues as the [National Basketball Association’s] Sacramento Kings and Arco Arena,” the network said in a release.

During each one-hour episode, a struggling family business will be exposed to "the Maloof touch" and be assisted in transforming their businesses into more flourishing enterprises, Spike added.

"Everything the Maloofs touch turns to gold, and we believe their business acumen and strong values will help to turn around many struggling family businesses," Spike executive vice president of programming and production Kevin Kay said in a prepared statement.

The yet-to-be-named series is being produced by MGM Television and its president, Hank Cohen, in association with Reveille (The Restaurant, The Office). Executive producers are Reveille's Ben Silverman and the Maloof brothers.
