Rainbow Media Holdings LLC’s sportskool is launching its largest transit campaign ever in the New York metro area Monday, touting instructional video from soccer legend Mia Hamm and skateboarding star Mike Vallely.
The ads will appear on commuter trains serving Long Island and Westchester County, N.Y., as well as New Jersey and Connecticut. There will also be a radio component on Long Island classic-rock station WBAB-FM.
A spokeswoman for the video-on-demand service that provides skills information about a host of sports said the campaign represents the first time sportskool -- which is available on parent Cablevision Systems Corp.’s systems, as well as those owned by Comcast Corp., among others -- will feature athlete-specific creative.
The campaign, created by Wolfe/Doyle Advertising of San Francisco, breaks with Hamm, followed by Vallely in July. Tennis and golf executions will follow.
