Sportsman Channel has bolstered its high-definition presence via a trio of launches with Comcast-owned systems.
In Florida, Sportsman Channel has moved to the digital preferred tier and simultaneously launched Sportsman HD with Comcast, while making the HD transition with the nation's top distributor in Sarasota. Moreover, Sportsman HD, which bowed in 2010, has rolled out with Comcast in Charleston, S.C.
Financial deal terms were not disclosed.
These launches bring Sportsman's hunting, shooting and fishing shows to Comcast customers in recently upgraded systems in the aforementioned markets. Earlier this month, Comcast in Chicago launched the HD service.
"As the leader in outdoor programming, we are committed to providing the best-in-class HD programming for the ultimate 'you are there' viewing experience," said Gavin Harvey, Sportsman Channel CEO in a statement. "Sportsman Channel HD lets Comcast's customers feel like they are experiencing the outdoors right beside our series' hosts."
During the third quarter, dubbed "The Season of the American Sportsman," Sportsman Channel, which has fashioned four new programming blocks, will premiere 25 original primetime series and air 75 original episode debuts
