Sportsman Channel Nets Bright House Carriage

The Sportsman Channel has secured a berth on Bright House Networks Central Florida system.
The hunting-fishing service is scheduled to launch on digital channel 118 on Saturday Feb. 28. The deal, terms of which were not disclosed, adds 590,000 subscribers to The Sportsman Channel roster, which will push past the 15.5 million mark.
Launched in 2003, The Sportsman Channel was acquired by InterMedia Outdoors Holdings three years later. TSC is now a part of the nation's largest multimedia company targeted exclusively to serving the information and entertainment needs of outdoors enthusiasts.
"Thanks to InterMedia Outdoors, The Sportsman Channel has become the prime network of its genre," said Mark Kang, vice president of affiliate relations for The Sportsman Channel, in a statement. "We're delighted that Bright House recognizes the value we bring to their digital basic costumers and our unique ability to market their products."

The Sportsman rollout follows the Bright House division's recent addition of Gospel Music Channel.
