John A. Garcia has been named president of the joint venture formed by Sprint Nextel Corp., Comcast Corp., Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications Inc. and Advance/Newhouse Communications.
Garcia had been senior vice president of strategic partners for Sprint Consumer Solutions.
Sprint and the four MSOs announced their alliance in early November with the aim of allowing cable subscribers to buy a quadruple-play bundle of voice, video, high-speed-data and wireless-telephony service.
Garcia will report to a six-member governance council -- three from Sprint and one each from Comcast, Time Warner and Cox.
