Sprint Now Dishing Out Dish Network

Customers in Sprint Corp.’s 18-state local-telephone-operating territory can now subscribe to EchoStar Communications Corp.’s Dish Network direct-broadcast satellite service directly through the telco, Sprint said Tuesday.

The deal was first announced in February, following a similar arrangement between Verizon Communications and DirecTV Inc.

Sprint can now offer a complete bundled-service package of local telephony, long-distance telephony, wireless telephony, digital subscriber line and video.

“Bringing satellite-TV services to our customers gives us the final element to offer our customers a total suite of communications and entertainment products and services," said Steve Carter, vice president of consumer marketing for Sprint’s local telecommunications division, in a prepared statement.
