Sprint, Sling TV Team on OTT Promo

Sprint and Sling TV have teamed up on a promotion in select markets that offers Sling TV for free for a limited time to new mobile subs on Sprint’s unlimited plan, and discounted rates for Sling TV to consumers who sign up for other Sprint plans.

Under the discounted option, Sprint subs can Sling Orange for $17 per month (regularly $20), Sling Blue for $22 per month (regularly $25), or the Orange/Blue bundle for $37 per month (regularly $40).  It also offers Sling TV’s Best of Spanish TV as a stand-alone for $10 per month.

Customers who sign up for four lines or more on Sprint’s Unlimited Freedom plan get Sling Orange for free until April 30, and pay $17 per month thereafter.

Per the fine print, the promo, spotted by Wave7 Research and FierceWireless, is limited to select Chicago and Atlanta locations, and consumers must active it by April 30.

Sprint is also selling Roku Express models at participating stores for $29.99 – the same price offered when buying directly from Roku.

"This trial represents a great opportunity for customers in these markets to try out Sling TV on our network – and provides our customers more entertainment options,” a Sprint official told FierceWireless.

AT&T, meanwhile, is offering $25 credits toward DirecTV and its new OTT TV service, DirecTV Now, to consumers who sign up for its new unlimited mobile plan.
