Mobile ESPN products and services are currently available in 575 Sprint Nextel Corp. retail locations, the two companies said Thursday.
The original agreement between the sports network and the communications-services provider called for the EVDO (Evolution Data Optimized) product to be available in at least 500 stores by July.
“Bringing our products to Sprint stores affords us a unique opportunity to reach wireless consumers looking for a differentiated sports-data experience on a high-quality device and a proven high-speed network,” Mobile ESPN senior vice president and general manager Manish Jha said in a prepared statement.
Sprint Nextel VP of retail Jeff Auman added, “The addition of the Mobile ESPN brand is a strong complement to Sprint's expanding lineup of voice and data services. Sprint stores now offer sports fanatics the fix they need to make their wireless experience complete.”
