Stars, Pols Sign On for Sundance’s Tanner

Several celebrities and politicians are set to make cameo appearances in Sundance Channel’s Tanner on Tanner, the sequel to Tanner ’88, the network said Wednesday.

Tanner on Tanner, from Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Garry Trudeau and Oscar-nominated director Robert Altman, will combine fact and fiction, much like their Tanner ’88 did.

Among those set to appear are Robert Redford, former New York Gov. Mario Cuomo, Martin Scorsese, former secretary of state Madeline Albright, Harry Belafonte, the Rev. Al Sharpton, Pulitzer-winning journalist Carl Bernstein, Air America Radio host Al Franken and MSNBC reporter Ron Reagan, son of the late former President Ronald Reagan.

The three-part Tanner on Tanner will debut on Sundance Tuesday, Oct. 5.
