With an eye on Hispanics, YipTV has launched as the latest over-the-top service capable of bringing Spanish-language offerings to U.S. Hispanics without the need for a cable or satellite-TV provider.
Marketing itself as “Your Individual, Personalized TV,” YipTV is being introduced to U.S. Latinos for a subscritipn price of $14.99 per month, contract-free. Users can access YipTV (https://www.yiptv.com/) via smart TVs, laptop or desktop computers and Android- or iOS-powered smartphones. Apple TV and Google Chromecast can also support YipTV.
YipTV is launching with 50 channels from across the globe. Among the Spanish-language offerings are beIN Sports, Mexico’s Azteca, Spain’s Antena 3, Colombian news channel NTN24, pan-Latin American network Canal Sur, and Argentina’s TyC Sports.
YipTV promises to add additional Spanish-language channels “in coming months.”
Michael Tribolet, CEO and co-founder of YipTV, said Internet-based OTT technology allows for an explosion of channel options catering to some 40 million U.S. consumers that do not have cable or satellite services in the home.

Tribolet is a former president of voice-over-Internet protocol telephony pioneer Vonage Holdings who's based in West Palm Beach, Fla., and New Brunswick, N.J., and has been working toward the YipTV launch for more than three years.
