Starz App Hooks Up With Google Home

Starz, the Lionsgate-owned premium programmer, said it has integrated its app with Google Home, enabling consumers to use their voice to find and control the playback of Stars programming, including original series such as Counterpart,Power and Outlander.

The technical tie-in enables that when Google Home smart hubs are linked to Chromecast-connected devices.

The Starz app supports the programmer’s authenticated TV Everywhere offering as well as Starz’s direct-to-consumer OTT service, which sells for $8.99 per month following a free trial for new subs.

The Starz app is supported on iOS and Android mobile devices, Sony Android TV, Apple TV, Roku players and Roku TVs, Amazon Fire TV devices, Xbox One consoles, web browsers, and LG and Samsung smart TVs.
