Starz Greenlights Drama Series From Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson

‘Power’ To Focus On Double Life Of Nightclub Owner/Drug Kingpin

Actor/hip-hop performer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson will serve as executive producer on a new Starz original series set to debut in 2014, according to network officials.

The one-hour series, Power, will follow the life of James "Ghost" St. Patrick, a weathy New York City nightclub owner who leads a double life as the kingpin of the most lucrative drug network in New York. Courtney Kemp Agboh (The Good Wife) created the series and will also serve as an executive producer and showrunner for the series, according to Starz.

"We are thrilled to add Power to our growing original programming lineup for 2014,” Starz CEO Chris Albrecht said in a release. “Curtis has a unique and specific vision for the series, lending it an authenticity and voice rarely seen. Courtney has created a rich world and characters not often explored in contemporary drama. There is a rawness and soul to the character of Ghost as he struggles to live between these two worlds that we believe will leave an indelible mark on the audience and stay with them after the credits roll."
