Starz Entertainment movie channel Starz InBlack will pay tribute to Spike Lee Tuesday, March 20, celebrating the filmmaker’s 50th birthday.

The channel will run a 24-hour marathon of Lee’s movies, including School Daze, Crooklyn, Bamboozled, Summer of Sam, Girl 6 and Starz Original documentary A Huey P. Newton Story.

Also airing will be segments of interviews in which the filmmaker discusses his craft and career as a writer, director, actor, producer, author and entrepreneur.

“Spike Lee is undoubtedly one of the most important filmmakers of his generation,” Starz Entertainment vice president of planning and scheduling Jonathan Shair said. “Starz InBlack is extremely proud to pay homage to this extraordinary director who has not only revolutionized filmmaking, but has had, and continues to have, a major impact on the presence of African Americans in cinema.”
