Stewart Is Book-Smart

Publishers Weekly (a sister publication to Multichannel News) has named Jon Stewart's America (The Book) its “Book of the Year.”

The trade magazine said the book, by the host of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, was “a serious critique of the two-party system, the corporations that finance it and the ‘spineless cowards in the press’ who ‘aggressively print allegation and rumor independent of accuracy and fairness.’”

America (The Book) was released in September and shot to the top of the best-seller lists despite the fact that Wal-Mart Stores Inc. declined to stock it, citing a page featuring the faces of the nine Supreme Court justices superimposed over naked bodies, according to AP.
