Arbitron Inc. and Edison Media Research are reporting that 80 million
consumers, or 35 percent of the population aged 12 and older, have watched or
listened to streaming media online, up from 24 percent two years ago.
A new study by the two groups found that 40 percent of 'streamies' said
they'd be willing to pay subscription fees for the right mix of content,
primarily high-quality (no buffering) audio, commercial-free content or content
they couldn't find anywhere else.
