Broadcom Corp. reported improved revenue and net income for the fourth quarter of 2003.
The chip vendor posted revenue of $479.1 million, up 61.9% from $295.9 million in the year-earlier quarter and up 12.6% from $425.6 million in the third quarter.
Net income was $6.1 million, or 2 cents per share, versus a net loss of $1.758 billion ($6.40) in the fourth quarter of 2002 and a third-quarter net loss of $6.3 million (2 cents).
For the full year, Broadcom’s net revenue was $1.61 billion, up 48.7% from $1.083 billion in 2002. The company’s net loss was $959.9 million, or $3.29 per share (basic and diluted), compared with $2.237 billion ($8.35) in the prior year.
