The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers board of directors elected Suddenlink Communications chief technology officer Terry M. Cordova to the board to replace Walt Ciciora, who recently resigned.
Cordova, an SCTE member since 1999, had served on the SCTE board from 2003 to 2005. The seat Ciciora has vacated and that Cordova has filled is a director-at-large position, representing all SCTE members.
“Terry brings a wealth of experience, not only as a previous board member, but with a view of the industry from the CTO chair of Suddenlink,” said SCTE chairman Tom Gorman, who is Charter Communications’ vice president of operations engineering.
Ciciora, a longtime cable consultant formerly with Time Warner Cable, resigned his board seat “in preparation for his upcoming retirement,” according to the SCTE. He has been a member of the association since 1985 and was inducted into the SCTE Hall of Fame in 1996.
Ciciora was in the second year of his third consecutive two-year term as director-at-large. Cordova will complete the term, which ends June 2008.
