Sun Sports and fellow regional sports networks FSN South and FSN Southwest have extended their carriage deal with the Southeastern Conference, Sun Sports announced Monday.
The former Sunshine Network gets expanded opportunities for live game coverage, as well as continued delivery of live weekly, Emmy Award-winning studio series SEC-TV.
And the extension provides for nationwide exposure for most conference sports across national digital-cable service Fox College Sports.
“As 'The Florida Sports Network,' Sun Sports is uniquely positioned to bring sports fans this outstanding package of SEC programming, which supplements our extensive agreement with the University of Florida," Sun Sports vice president and general manager Cathy Weeden said in a prepared statement.
"The SEC is one of the most competitive and popular conferences in the nation, and this extension ensures that Sun Sports viewers will continue to see the very best in SEC sports and additional UF programming not available anywhere else,” she added.
SEC commissioner Mike Slive added, “The extension of our agreement with Sun Sports, FSN South and FSN Southwest will give the Southeastern Conference additional exposure for its 20 sponsored sports, including added national-television opportunities for women's basketball.”
