Sundance Channel will be making the scene on college campuses via DirecTV
Inc.

The independent-film network has signed an agreement with the
direct-broadcast satellite company to make the channel available to colleges'
and universities' satellite-master-antenna-television systems via headend
distribution, the companies announced.

The deal marks the first time Sundance -- a venture between Robert Redford,
Showtime Networks Inc. and Universal Studios -- is being offered directly to the
college and university market by the DBS industry.

'College students are a perfect audience for Sundance Channel because of
their adventurous spirit and intellectual curiosity,' Sundance executive vice
president of sales and affiliate marketing Tom Christie said in a prepared
statement.

'Sundance Channel is designed for the viewer who is seeking daring and
innovative programming, including work from today's emerging artists,' he added.
'We are delighted that Sundance Channel will now be available to the college
student who is a fan of inventive and imaginative filmmaking.'
