More than two-thirds of respondents to a poll at the recent SUPERCOMM trade show believe voice over Internet protocol is ready for widespread deployment.
The poll of more than 1,000 SUPERCOMM attendees was conducted by Spirent Communications and Telephony magazine.
The poll also found that 91% of respondents feel that the “VoIP revolution has begun.”
The top five service providers respondents felt will be most successful at deploying VoIP: Verizon Communications, AT&T Corp., SBC Communications Inc., Comcast Corp. and Vonage Holdings Corp.
SUPERCOMM was held in Chicago June 21-25.
