SureWest Rates to Rise in Jan.

SureWest Communications will raise rates for its bundled packages by an average of $3.40 per month in January, the integrated communications provider told the Sacramento Metropolitan Cable Television Commission.

The company offers digital-cable, high-speed-data, wireless and telephony services under the “InfinitAccess” brand in the Sacramento, Calif., region.

“We have little control over television-content-cost increases, and this rate adjustment for digital television is necessary to keep up with increases in programming costs, primarily for sports offerings and premium-movie networks, and other operating costs,” SureWest Broadband chief operating officer Fred Arcuri said in a prepared statement.

The company said more than 80% of its Sacramento-area subscribers take two or more of its InfinitAccess products and more than 50% take all three.
