In a survey of Internet-service-provider customers, twice as many broadband
subscribers rate their online satisfaction levels as a perfect '10' than dial-up
customers.

So said a survey of 1,000 U.S. households conducted by Leichtman Research
Group Inc.

More than 20 percent of broadband customers rated their satisfaction levels
as a 10, versus 10 percent of those with dial-up access.

The survey also found that 40 percent of online households were interested in
signing up for a high-speed Internet service.

Online privacy is a big concern, the survey found: 94 percent of online
households rated the issue as personally important, and more than 40 percent
said they would pay an additional monthly fee for guaranteed privacy and online
security.

Leichtman plans to release additional survey results next month at the
Broadband Content Delivery Forum in San Diego.
