Sweeney to Kick-Start PROMAX&BDA Confab

The Walt Disney Co. co-chairman of media networks and president of Disney-ABC Television Group Anne Sweeney will kick off this year’s annual PROMAX&BDA Conference at the New York Marriott Marquis June 21-23.

Sweeney will give the opening address Tuesday, June 21 at 5 p.m. (EST), then present ESPN Inc. president and ABC Sports chairman George W. Bodenheimer with the “Television Century Award.”

PBS CEO Pat Mitchell and television journalist Bill Moyers will also be honored during the promotion, marketing and design organization’s annual confab.

Other invited speakers include Martha Stewart; TV host and commentator Ron Reagan; author, lawyer and activist Robert F. Kennedy Jr.; NBC Universal president Jeff Zucker; PBS filmmaker Ken Burns; president of Home Box Office documentary and family Shelia Nevins; selected master planner of the World Trade Center Daniel Libeskind; David Rockwell of Rockwell Group Design; author and mythologist Jean Houston; and Deepak Chopra, physician, author and world leader in the field of mind-body medicine.
